I don’t understand the negative reviews lol. It seems like a lot of readers want the authors to tell them what to do… but the whole point of the book is to gently point out (through thoughtful analysis of parenting practices & outcomes in other cultures) that there are many varied ways of raising healthy, well-adjusted children, and we (Americans) need to stop obsessing over finding the ‘right’ way to parent.

Ooh at last: the thoughtful critique of attachment theory I’ve been looking for. Can’t tell how central this argument will be to the rest of the book but very intrigued so far.
