I really want to like this because the concept seems so fun but every ten pages there's a paragraph even more gross than the one I complained about before like,,,, wtf is this:

"A tough-looking black kid was ambling down the street and Scott instinctively locked the car door, then felt guilty and unlocked it again."

Okay, yikes. I hope the author has plans for this character because rn I really don't want to root for him or his romance

lots of references towards politics which,,,, is a choice. especially if you're trying to make me care about a tory sister. and it's not necessarily inaccessible but also not totally accessible if you know what i mean. like,,, i feel like you gotta be in a certain age group or well versed in UK politics for the references to be common knowledge to you,,, like,, idk shit about tony blair I'll be honest.
