Being a father with three children, one of which is a girl toddler, this book so far is a bit much for me. I know that's what the Gears were aiming for, to explain the nightmarish ancient history of the people who would become the Iroquois Confederacy and offer a vision into the world that gave birth to the Great Peacemaker & Hiawatha... But dang. Parenthood changes your tolerance for things, i suppose.
