Filled with anachronisms and poor fact-checking, which drives me to cast doubt on the broader historical research if the author can’t even check that Joan, daughter of Edward III, was not his youngest child, or otherwise wildly mischaracterize people and places of the period. Writing is fluffy and literary, like most pop history, but also substance-less.
