It's almost impressively boring considering some of the subject matter. The anecdotes are interesting enough but most of this is a slog and there's not enough about the author considering the subtitle is "the secret life of a painkiller addict." I'm curious about his feelings and experiences but feels like he's holding back. Getting story after story about how he scored pills felt like he was bragging

from the title and even the description I thought this would be much more of a coherent story than it is..at times it just feels like a series of essays

This feels disjointed. The facts and interviews and stories are related but there's no balance. I feel like I'm in counseling but the counselor's trying to sell me pills
