Death would be less painful than having to witness their longing & the words they exchange & the vows they make that will, inevitably, culminate towards the very opposite of that foregone conclusion they are dreading. For the first time in life, I cannot enjoy this story, because it’s painful ending sits quietly in the back of my mind, waiting to comfort me, waiting for that whispered secret to scream at the Gods.
