I'll admit that after watching the TV adaptation I lost any and all interest I had to read this trilogy... and this is not helping. Is it really that boring?

Is it really that boring?"Personally I'm enjoying it, but I haven't seen the TV adaptation. It's been a lot of backstory and not much has happened between the characters. I don't think it would be very interesting if you've seen the show already ... but maybe give it a go anyways? Not sure.
