I did not like how open ended that ending was. The relationship with Luc fell so far which is fine but like the writing was still dry af. I couldn’t believe that it was happening because when I read it I felt nothing. I thought Addie was going to give up her life instead do the trade but that didn’t happen and it ended was so sour.

So if she’s never meant to be with Luc why does she dream, her whole life, of someone like him telling her stories holding her loving her. Doesn’t make a lot of sense. I feel like the potential for Her and Luc was there because in the beginning she wanted someone to hold her and tell her stories which Luc could do but she did for Henry. Which was super cute after all that time she just wanted to be heard.

I wish it ended at the publishing of the book. I wish Luc giving her Henry was actually I conus to his character development. Ex: he knows she never love him so he finds those like Henry that are on the brink of death and gives them a second chance at life with her. Also what’s up with her drawing him when she was human. She wasn’t drawing Henry she said that the drawing looked like Luc…

There was so much build for Luc to have a good character arc and then it went to shit. I think it would have been really cool for him to change and lose Addie forever. Not because I like him but because it would have made an impact on how he made deals in the future. The character arc reminded me of Jamie Lannister. I started to really love Henry at the end there and what he did for Addie. I loved it so much

Ouch. What a messy end. I don’t like the way the relationship between Addie and Luc evolved. I expected it to be a bad end but the passion wasn’t there. There was so much build up in the book and now at the end it’s so dry and fast. Like eating plan bread and having the bread stick it the top of your mouth. No flavor kinda annoying but not horrible and gives you some substance.

Okay good stuff now. OMG Luc and Addie ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Their little romance is so cute aside from the start of the relationship. Like yea looking back the idea is played out but its soooo good. Their chemistry is just amazing. It’s their anniversary and Henry is there I don’t know what’s going to happen but I’m scared. WHAT HAPPENED IN NEW ORLEANS. I gotta know 😩😩😩😩😩

I want to write down now because I can tell it’s going to get really good.
I had to skip Henry’s chapters they were boring and I could get the gist of the chapter reading a few sentences here and there. For a while I was trying so hard to finish the book just so I could never have the guilt of dropping it and saying I havent finished it yet.

But I’m not the targeting audience. I mean I feel like I should be since I’m an artist, a baroque style artist🙄🤦♀️ihml. I love theater. I struggle with mental health and am very philosophical, but like I said the modern part of the story hits a bit to close to home. Maybe it’s just not escapist enough for me 😅. But god I love this plot idea 😩

I do wish there were more Luc and Addie scenes just because their scenes are interesting. Addie and Henry are, although they connect, boring. I wish Addie was a bit more of a mystery, and saw more scenes of Henry trying to figure out who she is. I think there is a lack of foreshadowing and suspense especially for a 3rd person read. Which is something I love, suspense. I love the plot so much,…

It hits a little too close to home, I can see people in my life who act like the people in these books and I don’t like them. I don’t like Henry or Bea, especially not Robbie. So I’m just a bit detached and bias towards this book, which is a good. I do love Addie, especially past her. Luc, I don’t have a lot to say about him yet, but I do understand why Addie has a quaint obsession with him.

It’s a good I love the plot, but for some reason the vibes or just a little off for me. It’s a bit dry. I love the scenes of Addie’s past, most of the time, but Henry’s scenes are boring. The conversations are dry, and it’s very theater geek written. There is also a lot of philosophical fluff. The whole book gives of struggling artist vibes. I think since I am an artist and hate pretentious know it alls…
