I think I already recommend this book based on the explanation of being able to pay £8 to the City of London for a pond swimming permit so long as you wear an orange cap and also the preference of dying a predictable ocean death vs potentially being dragged down by pond vines & being forced to marry a “zombie corpse of a murdered postman” who had handcuffed him “down and make me be his wife for eternity”.
