Its a very interesting book, however, whilst I've enjoyed much of it, the magical realism aspect and the references to Indian and Arabic cultures/religions can be a bit challenging. The more you know about Islam and Urdu speaking cultures the more you'll get out of reading this.
Its a densely written, poetic literary novel not a poolside blockbuster.
