Wait, wait, wait. She goes off out of the blue with 'companions' to visit a village about roadwork? Gets knocked out by bandits, wakes up alone, and doesn't return home????????????? She's the crown prince, and supposedly responsible, why would she not go home immediately. She's not this stupid.

Three, the whole tripping/stabbing (which wasn't actually a stabbing, but seems to be a slash across her abdomen) thing. How exactly was he holding the sword???

And the whole bit where she throws the sword in the air, turns away, then turns back seems like a silly movie thing and not at all what an experienced knight would do. Swords aren't toys, she wouldn't treat it like one.

I keep trying to just READ, but so many little things keep distracting me. There's no way she'd be fighting with a wooden sword against steel, even if it's blunted steel. She's obviously experienced enough it's just ??? that she's using a wooden sword.

Two, I don't see the point of the alt POVs, this would have been more interesting if their POVs had been eliminated.

"he was not the prince, but he was still the prince's brother" ????? Then yes he's still a prince???? Does the author mean *crown* prince?
