In the past, I have read books such as Percy Jackson, which had given me some knowledge about Greek myths. But, this has given more details about the creation of the earth, light, and darkness. I also learned more about the rule of the titans and the conflict they had with the Greek gods.

It was interesting to learn more about Prometheus, and how the Greeks viewed him as a symbol of resilience against oppression. The chapter further discussed the Brazen Age, and the Iron Age which would be described as the period in that violence and chaos took over the earth. It would also be the time when the gods began to abandon the earth one by one, with Astrea the goddess of innocence and purity being the last.

Though I haven't gotten to the main content of this book, it was still interesting to read the reasons explained as to why ancient myths should be taught to a high school audience. I also found it enlighting to read about the benefits of appreciating myths; how they can develop one's creative taste and thinking.
