So far this former UK ambassador to inter alia Tehran and Paris has claimed that Persian is spoken in two countries when it’s official in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan. He then claimed that Iranians as Indo-Europeans have more in common with Europeans than their neighbouring countries which is orientalism. The emphasis on the Shia Sunni divide in the region is boring and so last decade. Not sure I’ll finish.
