Hiked the Lower Falls trail at McKinney Falls State Park. Crossed the creek for fabulous 3 mile hike with views of the ruins. Sunnier than I thought; neck toasted a little. I wish I knew about the swimming hole in advance. One large trail and several smaller trails to complete there. Was $10 for two or $60 for 1-year pass.

I miss hiking. Hell, I miss an unsquished diaphragm.

Hiked the Onion Creek Trail at McKinney Falls State Park. It's mostly paved for bikes. Listed as shady--I'd say half sunny/half shady. The trail is nearly all uphill. We saw a jack rabbit & lots of birds. Very noisy grasshoppers. Lots of people at the park camping/swimming. We finally bought the State Park Annual Pass, since they would refund our park fee of $10 towards it. Really want to go back & swim in the falls.

Hiked McKinney Roughs--Riverside to Coyote Road to Pecan Bottom to Deep Sandy to Coyote Road to Bobcat Ridge to Bobcat Spur. Don't be discouraged by the initial section of the Riverside trail. Lots of trails to go back and try. The route suggested by our hiking book was closed due to bees. It was $4 for anyone 12 and up. We saw a doe and her fawn as well as a cardinal and lizard. Lots of horses and riders, too.

Second hike completed on Wednesday! A very pretty little bit of wilderness in an unlikely spot. I wish I had brought my camera.
