I am impressed with how many storylines Dickens can maintain and not have the story feel too unwieldy. What also helps is that, as the book progresses, the storylines tend to intersect and influence each other.

More resolutions. The <spoiler>search for Emily storyline</spoiler> is wrapping up and I am now in the final sixth of the book (I swear I will not post an update for every single final chunk of a fraction with increasingly greater denominators).

80% of the way now, I believe. All of the plotlines are beginning to find resolutions. Dickens is such a master at having everything come together in the end. As an (very) occasional writer myself, I envy him that ability.

David Copperfield continues to feature entertaining characters, well-structured plotlines, and surprising twists as it enters its final third.

About a third of the way through and loving this book (maybe even more so than A Tale of a Two Cities; we'll see). The characters are vividly rendered, and every scenario the David experiences is highly specific. You can see how much David Copperfield and other Dickens classics would serve as the template for all future "child down on their luck goes on a series of wacky adventures" stories.
