Highly recommend Kieran Egan's work on education if you'd like more of this. He comments extensively on Dewey and argues that weaving distinct types of understanding - mythic, romantic, etc. - is the key to move education forward. Equal parts Wordsworth and McLuhan. Criminally under-read
