The most surprising part of The Great Hamster Massacre is the part when they show the hole that jake and his friend made to see each other. This is suprising because they made a big hole through the wall and they are just kids. Wouldn't their parents find out what they did because the noise is so loud. Where would they get the tool to make the hole and where would they put the broken wall.

The unsympathetic character in the book the great hamster massacre is their mom for many reasons. The first reason is that she got really mad at the children when the hamster ate a part of the coat when their mom put the hamster cage under the coat. This is unsypithetic because she is the one who put the hamster under the coat and then she gets mad at the kids.
