Cool story of Savitra but why the original story of wife harming babies appears all over I can’t figure out

Melissa de la Cruz is an atrociously bad writer (even when you’re a teenager), but you can’t doubt her willingness to use anything and everything to plug her atrociously badly written Blue Blood books

Story V. Loosely based on the tale— nonetheless a heartwarming story about finding your own path. A discussion of two futures. I liked that one sister did manage to climb the corporate ladder instead of going the ‘patriarchy glass ceiling’ route (not that it’s irrelevant) and explored beyond it; makes it an informed decision

Story IV is a weird one. Yes, I know Lindu objects to ‘weird’; it’s a perfectly serviceable word. The original folktale is more interesting to me than the actual story. Women renderign their sleeping lovers helpless is familiar (see cutting Samson’s hair) but here it is for a purpose. The girl clearly assessed everything and decided every outcome leads to murder. And that she’s in love with a moron bad boy

Story 3. Steel skin — saw android/humanity done better, so this becomes more of a ‘feelings good nee generation vs feelings bad old generation’ story. Original story sinister, highly approve. Need to dig into folklore

Story 1 - I do so dislike tragic ‘She didn’t believe him, but he was faithful’ love stories. What a clusterfuck
