Can I get some hugs and love? I've had some bad work news. I think it'll work out okay in the end, but I'm going to have to interview for the fourth time to keep a job I'm pretty darn awesome at. On the plus side, losing the Super Bowl doesn't seem so bad!

Jacob Proffitt That's such a drag! Four times seems rather excessive. I'm a programmer, so I'd be for creating a pointer to the first interviews and referring subsequent requests there... :)

Katie Thank you!

Jacob, considering they ask the EXACT SAME QUESTIONS every time, that sounds like a totally workable solution.

Ami *hugs and LOVE*

May I ask why you need to be interviewed?? I mean, you already have the job...

message 5: by Katie (new)

Katie Thanks, Ami.

It is kind of confusing and complicated, but I will try to explain! I had a permanent 24/hr week job, but then a temporary 37/hr a week position opened up, and I got that job. It's doing the exact same thing, same pay, etc, but it's considered a different position.

Now it's becoming a permanent position and it looked like I'd be able to get as a "transfer position" (so transferring into a job I'm already doing!), but today I found out that they (not my direct boss, but the people above her) decided to open it up to everyone instead, so I have to apply all over again. Even though not only do I already have the job, but I'll be DOING the job while this whole process goes on.

Emma Sea this sucks!
*hugs, and a hedgehog who can sense good things coming*

Katie Aw, thank you!

message 8: by Hallie (new)

Hallie BIG hugs! Such a waste of time and energy. Is there any consolation in the fact that you can be prettttttty sure by now you do okay at interviews? :)

message 9: by Melissa (new)

Melissa McShane Oh no! Good luck! I'm with Hallie, though--you must rock the interviewing by now!

Katie Thanks!

And I've thought about that a lot. I don't think interviewing will EVER scare me too much in the future. Although I still don't know how I deal with conflict in the workplace. Ignore it? That's the answer they're looking for, right?
