I will feel very accomplished when I finish reading Middlemarch. It has grown on me as I get used to the archaic language and the myriad characters. Perhaps I will even feel bereft when I leave England of the early 1830s behind. My introduction to George Eliot was years ago in high school with Silas Marner and later Adam Bede on film. But how could I not read "the greatest novel of all time?"
