A couple of things about the last few days of reading, the scene where the Barghast first run into Itkovian after the battle with the "twin" terrors of the Tenescowri and he tells Itkovian something like "know the enemy you left us was brittle" and "in your shadows lay honor", that hit me. Powerful stuff. Then later when Quick Ben tells the Gods to stand aside and see what mortals can do, what a great, taunting line.

This might be the best book I've ever read. I'm only half way through but with Itkovian being a super-badass and Gruntle doing his thing in that damn house I am thoroughly entertained. Brutal but touching stuff.
