I don't think the writing style is for me. I read Sharon M. Draper's book "Out of My Mind" when I was pretty young, so maybe that's why I liked the writing more then, but now reading more of her books being older, the writing is too childish and keeps getting derailed by random topics in the middle of a sentence.
