Okay painful question: what worse, having your fav character die or they live through the trauma and will never be the same? (Im looking at you Suzanne 😑)

I recently read a book where one of my favorite characters died and I bawled like a baby for a full 30 minutes… I’d rather have them change than die…
Literally anything is better than your favourite character dying. ANYTHING 🥺🥺🥺

Read a book where the main character died twice and the love interest was so distraught that they brought them back from the afterlife but then later on the love interest died so the main character lived an empty life waiting for death. Kinda wish he had died so then the two could be reunited in the afterlife.
Acotar has something like that. SPOILER: Feyre low key stopped breathing…
