By lying to yourself, you're only consigning your goals to failure.

Thinking positively is the only way to survive at 8,000 metres. Nobody cheats death by wallowing in self-pity.

Tomorrow might not happen.

You're not going to get your dream by just fantasizing about it. But if you make it your ultimate goal, or god, and give yourself to it entirely, there's a good chance it might come your way.

Never underestimate the mountain you're about to climb- no matter how easy people think it might be. Be confident, but show respect.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Get the hardest job out of the way.

The biggest problem facing humanity at this moment in history is our inability to think long-term.

I'd rather burn out in style than drift away quietly.

Bravery over everything else.

Today I will give 100% and survive. I'll worry about tomorrow when tomorrow comes.
