Kris I used to live less than 2 miles from Pennhurst. By that time it was closed and nature was reclaiming the buildings. Us teens gravitated to the grounds because it was scary and cool but even as a teenager we clearly understood the horrors that occurred there. I moved away in 2000 but have friends who still live there and last I heard, the site is used as a haunted house every fall. It's horrific.
