Actually, I quit. Not worth it. I guess it might be good if you wanted to read millions of words to get one book's worth of story. (I just looked up the plots of the next 3 books. Ugh. So not worth it.)

Bored, bored, bored… This book is at least 150k words longer than it needs to be, endlessly clogged up with page after page of "show, don't tell" informed writing—please! Just tell me, already! Get on with it. Ugh!

The characters are now catching up to things that were obvious to me 150-200+ pages ago. I'll give them another chapter or two to take things someplace interesting, but it isn't looking good.

We spent the first half of the book getting things in place, establishing characters, and getting the 2 POV characters to the same location—which drains all dramatic tension from this "life or death" situation; they certainly can't both die here, and based on everything to this point, I doubt either is in any danger. So stop pretending they're in any real danger, author! It's garbage, and we all know it!

Started yesterday—surprisingly, I'm continuing to read it, today!
