Wonderfully compelling story of Olaudah's life as an enslaved boy across the Middle Passage, as a compulsory soldier against the French and later sold to a Quaker where he witnessed the worst of the worst at the hands of nearby slave masters. It begs the reader to ask how we can possibly justify the product of the past when so much truth oozes from the pages. Olaudah would become a freedman abolitionist in England
