The story isn't bad, but the fragmented storytelling style makes it difficult to feel engulfed in the story. I'm constantly asking myself, is he on the ship? Is this a memory? Is he time traveling? Is this past? Is it present? Like I said, it's a good story, just not the style of writing that really engages me.
