End part 3. This part delt with different parts of the concepts of fear and change. Primary point was to not let your general fears control your life. Instead sit with them and the discomfort and let it move through you so that it wont be trapped forever in the mind and heart. Remember you are observer and not your fears. This could have been one chptr max. Its very drawn out and repetitive sadly.

End chpt 11. Skim read and feel like I actually got the concept better than reading every word since I passed up all the fluffy BS. Deals with the discomfort of change and psychological pain. He says we should relax into the pain to let if move through the body so it isn’t stored up. He doesn’t explain how exactly to do this, only to let it flow and don’t store it.

End chpt 10. I have decided I don’t like this book. From here on I’ll be skimming it. This whole chapter was so repetitive. I kept getting distracted by other things while reading. Basic principle is don’t listen to you thoughts because they neurotic. Notice but don’t listen. Not very helpful advice. Guy seems pretentious “just stop smoking” as if it is that easy.

End chpt 9. I actually liked this chapter. It gave a real world, relatable example. It had practical advice to help alleviate the things that haunt our souls. Gave advice on noticing body reactions during emotions. It wasn’t a bad chapter. Still too much emphasis on “just letting go” as if a trauma response is that easy, but it was overall good advice on moving through our fears.

End chpt 8. What the hell was that chapter? The first 4 pages were good about fear and how its the root of most inner issues. Good stuff. But the rest of the chpt good lord. If anything happens just drop it dont think about it or delve into it? At all? Sounds like ignoring more than working through a problem. Wtf is this “darkness”? He doesnt use plain english and makes it VERY hard to follow his thought process

Goes over the importance of inner energy flow and how the center of the flow, the heart, is important to keep open and flowing to allow for the ability to release triggering emotions/thoughts. This helps keep the body from ruminating and becoming stuck/stagnant and not open to new experiences or being controlled by outside forces. I feel like the premise is good but execution is not. Too wordy as well

End chpt 7. Goes over the importance of letting go of the pull of strong emotions and thoughts. Discusses taking a backseat intentionally so that when annoyances happen you Dont ruminate on them. This lets you remain in control during hard situations while not suppressing the emotions. Acknowledge and then release. He makes it seem so easy to just choose not to be triggered which i dislike. Not sure about this book

End chpt 6. Focused on explaining the blockages of the heart aka “triggers”. He doesn’t call them that, called them samskaras, but he is describing being triggered by events in life that cause us to stop being in the moment and become overwhelmed with emotion and thoughts (+ or -) and how to rectify this. I can see where he’s coming from BUT he takes it too far, like nothing in life should have reactions

End chpt 5. Short, discusses keeping heart chakra open to let inner energy flow continuously. Closing can be feeling tight or withdrawn when meeting new ppl or uncomfortable situations. One must choose to keep open anyway and the energy will be felt by u and others. Easier said than done. Liked the message but chpt kept repeating itself WAY too much. Whole chpt could have been 3 paragraphs.

End part 1. Ultimately answers the question who are you by breaking down how your thoughts, reactions and emotions are not you. Introduces conscious awareness. I feel like I’m disliking the lack of spiritual emphasis. Its so matter of fact that the awe of making these discoveries is missing. The connection between consciousness, oneness, and bliss is missing. Unending love. Hope it’s addressed later in the book.
