This book makes me feel a little like an alien, and I have to remind myself to sub in any consumption versus just the clothing industry this focuses on. It's weird to hear that the average white person in the UK or the US wears their clothing 1-2x and gets rid of it. It's not a problem the Fats have so much, with way fewer options for clothing in the first place. My spouse wears things until they literally shred.

End of ch. 7 and we finally get a brief mention of one category of people who were being ignored when discussing fast fashion and clothing: Fats. So it's like a 5 minute segment at best, but yes, we do tend to wear our clothing until it's dead, or we definitely keep it in circulation because our options are so much narrower than thinner people. The fatter you are, the less impact your clothing has.
