Finished Miguel Street. It was really good but had a little too much domestic violence (men beating their children and wives, one instance where the wife was actually beating the husband). I liked the colorful characters, the dialogue, and the humor despite the situations being rather depressing. This was my first book set in Trinidad and by Naipaul. 4.5 stars

Miguel Street - Ch 5 Man-Man. Vignettes, with the same characters, from Miguel Street in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Interesting and an easy read.
