After reading Chapter 4, the author writes in the book that the next two chapters are about the factors that cause climate change. So, I really wonder if there are factors that do not come from human activities. Also, I am really concerned about the way we can stop this climate change. I think those chapters may help me find answers.

A phrase that really surprises me the most is "In other words, according to the IPCC scientists, there are nine chances out of ten that we humans, through our burning of fossil fuels, have been the dominant factor in the warming of the last half century." (Henry, 151) The way we live comfortably today has harmed the Earth for a long time. It makes me realize we should change our lifestyle to avoid disasters.

After reading half of the book, I do not find anything unclear. Everything was described clearly and precisely. This book makes me want to know more about volcanic eruptions, and I find that the amount of gas emission from a large eruption does not affect significantly the global greenhouse gas. However, a lot of eruptions can cause global warming.

The questions I think after reading the book are "Can we change the Earth to the Earth which does not have climate change?" and "How can we do to protect ice?"

Update#2
After reading two chapters, they show the readers a general introduction about ice to the following chapters. So, it does not challenge me much in the previous chapters. And, it does not cause my thinking to shift because most of them are in the lesson we have studied in high school.

Update #1
This book is very fascinating. Before reading it, I have never thought that ice shrinking could impact a bus driver’s job. So, I want to read more about how a change of ice changes people’s life.
