Since when did this place turn into a playground? The amount of people i see giving books bad reviews when its evident that they haven't read them really annoys me. You can leave honest reviews without being mean! This is peoples work regardless of what you think! Have some respect!

I agree. I've not been a member very long but I've noticed some peoples snarky reviews of certain books I've read myself. They are commenting on things that clearly weren't in the book at all just to leave a bad review, it's disgusting

But on the other hand at least it counters a lot of the fanatical reviews of books that are mediocre at best. I have found that the goodreads star ratings are next to useless. I don't think I've ever seen a book with an overall rating below 3, and the majority of them seem to be 4 stars or more. Obviously you should read the book before reviewing it, but the same thing goes for all the annoying people that rate a book that hasn't even been released yet with 5 stars. It cuts both ways.
I agree with your comment about the star ratings. But i dont think they can ever be accurate as every persons tastes differ. For instance, a book that i really enjoyed as a five star could be disappointing for others. Its just silly how people are being needlessly mean regarding their reviews
