Sure, this book fulfills its purpose of being horrific and disturbing, but it tries way too hard to be as unnecessarily devastating as possible with seemingly no end goal. The metaphor that this book is trying to sell it so obvious. The writing is pretty bad as well, and I found myself having to reread paragraphs several times to comprehend what was happening.
