I have always felt pretty skeptical about the claim that Shakespeare was Catholic because it feels like wishful thinking (even though some secular scholars agree). However, I love Joseph Pearce, and he presents plenty of solid evidence in support of Shakespeare’s Catholicism in online talks and articles alone. I don’t know if I’m conpletely convinced yet, but it’s certainly a reasonable claim.
