just started this book and already disappointed, it is very much an example of the time it was written in. in 2002 there really wasn’t a lot of understanding of what makes humans humans and ethical considerations of case studies. i’ve only read the first chapter and the author has already started using language that is not only ableist but undermines psychological theory behind human development and consciousness
