I have done courses like this multiple times and am very familiar with the content, so I am just sort of skimming the reading or skipping it and just doing the assignments. This book is weird. The page numbers start over for each chapter, and some of the online course material/e-book isn't even in my hard copy. The three chapters we are doing now are not in my hard copy, but I have completed the first seven chapters.
