Might be my favorite book I’ve read in a while. Amazing humor, characters, pacing, and commentary. This is my gateway book to Pratchett and Discworld and I can’t wait to explore more of this universe. I love when a book has something to say, but you need not read too deep to enjoy it. “Sometimes a chicken is no more than a bird”

Pratchetts ability to combine satire and whimsy then somehow make it incredibly profound has me falling in love with his writing. Hogfather on its surface feels like a comedic journey in a fictional form of Christmas, then becomes a staunch commentary on the holidays and consumerism, and then ends up as an insightful exploration into how belief in fiction and the consumption of fantasy are essential to the human exp

Incredible book. First Pratchett/Discworld novel, and it has not disappointed. Colorful characters, British humor, and great social commentary. This will become a Christmas tradition, and I’m very appreciative that no prior Discworld knowledge is required
