This is trippy - published in 2011 and set in the future, it mentions the "dark times" of 60 or so years beforehand where the Bubonic Plague resurfaced and was spread around like wildfire and the 2020 parallels are eerie! One guy went to China to buy some furs and flew back to NYC, took a subway, saw a show - and infected everyone in his path. And the rest became their history.
