It’s a very hands on view of the popular search engine used in my current job. I am reading the solr v4 version. The explanation of query processing and indexing is pretty detailed. Unfortunately real systems hide those clean apis in layers of “frameworks” so it will still take some work to connect the dots. Another good companion reading is Lucene in action.
