My sister and I decided this one together because relatives of ours were on this train and survived. It's an incredible story and we both wanted more information beyond what we know. We'll be reading it very slowly, just a chapter or two every two weeks, because the subject matter is difficult for us given that our grandparents lived in Brussels at the time and experienced or witnessed some of these events.

I finished this book a couple of weeks ago but forgot to mark it as finished.

I hope it is a good book for the sake of you and your sister and all others it might affect also. Be well.

And I know the bones of the story and it has some uplifting and heroic elements (similar to Schindler’s Ark/List—the book, I haven’t seen the movie) as well as tragedy. Also in the case of my great-aunt there is an incredible coda (I’m curious if it will be mentioned in the book). But still it won’t be an easy read.
