This book is really good it gives insight into the way that African Americans live and what they go through daily and the injustice that they face and how the cops get away with murdering someone because they have more melidon in their skin and harmful stereotypes about them. This book is a great read and was written by someone who has lived the experience of being black in america

Star got into a fight with a friend from her high school which isn't surprising this "friend" was super racist and made fun of star and her other friend who is Asian one thanksgiving stars friend asked her other friend if they had a cat for thanksgiving a horrible stereotype and made 2 fried chicken jokes towards Star before this too the whole school had justice for Kalhil protest just to skip class.

Star was interviewed by the cops seemed more like an integration but star got over it. Then she saw Kahili's death on the news and they said his name. The next day Star went to his funeral and the King Lords showed up confirming that Kahili was part of the gang. The next day star goes to school and plays some basketball star and 2 of here friends vs two boys and her boyfriend.

The main charter star when we are introduced at a party meets an old friend Kahlil. They start catching up a little bit and then they hear gunshots someone got shot at the party. So star and Kahlil started to run and drive away they get away until they get pulled over. Cop comes at the window and starts treating him like a drug dealer pulls him out of the car and handcuffs him as he goes back to the car
