The relationship between Lily and Atlas is growing quickly and you can tell that they are building a relationship that will last. Atlas asked Lily in a note that he wrote her if she would move in with him. He told her “Come home Lily. Come home.” (Hoover 302). This had to feel good for lily with all that she has been through.

I think that the way Hoover has developed the character of Atlas through this book is very empowering. It sets a good example for a lot of people throughout life and I think it’s very important. When Ryle showed up at Atlas’s work he punched Atlas out of his anger but Atlas told him that he “has no desire to fight” when really Atlas has so many more reasons to fight Ryle vs the reasons Ryle has to fight him.

I think that an arising problem throughout this book is going to be how Lily is going to tell Ryle that she is dating Atlas because Ryle is not the biggest fan of Atlas. Alyssa told Lily to “Text Ryle right now and tell him you’re dating Atlas. He’ll get over it; he doesn’t have a choice” (Hoover 165). I think Lily just needs to tell him sooner than later.
