the theme in my opinion is setting up the whole story plus the setting the slaves seem like they are happy so far they don't seem like other slaves they are more hard working and they are also at the same time doing less than other slaves that i've seen in books so far it is a good book

i really like the themes that are going on throughout the story i also like the setting of the story and how its changing i like the stories that momma tells and its weird how many babies shes having with master jefferson i think there having them on purpose just so they can get closer and stay closer together

the story is progressively getting better by the way it looks the slaves don't get to get married they are only aloud to get married in there hearts its also bad because i have a feeling beverly is going to tell people the secret about master jefferson and mama.
