One surprising part was when Matt, Kate's crush from camp, moved to her school. Kate meets up with her friends before school, and sees someone she wasn't expecting. "He's not from Roswell. He's not not even from Georgia. My heart's lodged high in my throat. Because Matt. Coke-Ad Matt. Is here" (13). This is surprising because although Kate mentions Matt earlier in the book, you don't expect him to move to Roswell.

A favorite part was when Kate and Noah admitted they liked each other. When Noah drives Kate home, he told her that he liked her after hinting at it for a while. "I have had the biggest, most ridiculous crush on you, Kate. For so long.' He catches my eye," (365). This is a favorite part because from the start of the book, I predicted Noah and Kate would date, and I'm glad it came true because they're a good couple.

A disappointing part was when Andy and Kate got into a fight. Andy reveals that he and Matt have been secretly dating, and Kate thinks that they'll make fun of her crush, resulting in a fight. "I mean, if Matt and Andy tiptoeing around my oblivious self for two weeks wasn't humiliating enough," (294). This is disappointing because Andy and Kate had a great relationship, and I don't want a silly quarrel to ruin it.

An unexpected part was when Matt moved into Kate's house. When a storm hits Roswell, a tree falls on Matt's house. Because their moms are friends, Kate's mom invites him and his mom, Ellen, to stay at their house. "I've talked a little bit with Ellen about having them stay here with us. It would just be for a couple of weeks" (222). It's not likely that Matt would move into Kate's home. Therefore, this is surprising.

A trait to describe Kate is fanciful. She imagines dating Matt, especially after getting cast as love interests in a show. "Matt Olsson is my love interest. And not even a casual love interest. Our characters literally have a love child together" (118). This shows she's fanciful because instead of thinking about how she got a lead role, which doesn't usually happen for her, she's thinking of Matt, her love interest.
