though i want to re-read it, im going to cut it short this time around bcs i have an essay to write and there are more reads and homework to come

prior to the start of the semester, i had been thinking of giving this novel another try since this was one of the first novels i read when trying to get back into reading consistently. i feel now that i was being unfair and slightly uncritical back then. now i get the chance to do that in class and view it as a retelling of pygmalion and potentially write about it for a midterm essay! funny how that works out

he is so silly and dumb and so is she but as much as i don't agree with what she did, it's lowkey slay girlboss of her like... she was actually slightly ahead of her time. although, this is def the type of book you read for analysis of wtf the author is saying (here is western culture/obsession and morals).

this is so hard to read... but it's good i swear. it's written in a careful, deliberate way that just punches me alot that's all
