I quit.

I quit. I simply couldn't deal with the macho misogyny. Yes, I know it's reality, especially in the cop world at that time. That doesn't mean I have to read about it. My emotional response got in the way of the story.

I didn't get very far. The utter contempt the male cops had for the women was too ugly for me. There are lots of good books out there. Much as I like the Slaughter, I decided to close this book for good.

Did not finish. Life is too short to spend hours deep in misogyny.
