and on another part I do empathize with Lovecrafts sort of yearning for something grander than simple life as a natural introverted person who tends to spend most time inside if he doesn't get pulled or called out by friends and family

this can be seen as escapism and in some cases maybe that is true but I find it my grounding anchor to reality in the darkest of times that I am connected to such vast worlds

I sorta understand a lot of the Lovecraft critics on his writing it can be strung in a hallucinatory almost irrelevant rambling manner using flowery adjectives the likes of which can be repetitive over several stories and of which sometimes you get lost in the maze of details

that being said there's also a larger-than-life or rather the universe aspect that comes with it and it's quite addicting and hard to put down
