As a society, we are overwhelmingly against animal cruelty. Most of us think that harming animals is reprehensible. But animals are subjected to violence every single day on farms and in slaughterhouses. So why are we selective in our compassion towards animals? And why are we only outraged by some forms of animal cruelty?
