One part that surprised me a lot was when we found out who Percy Jackson's father was. In the Chiron says "Hail, Perseus Jackson, Son of the Sea God."(138) after a holograph of a trident appeared over his head. This reveals that Percy's dad is Poseidon. Therefore, it means that Poseidon broke the rule of the big three gods. Now, Percy will be in great danger and the plot of the story has taken an extreme twist to it.
